Dear Friends and Family,

Welcome to my site!  I have been accepted to participate in an amazing competitive internship program with the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD)! This June, with my brand-new degree in Biology from Kalamazoo College in hand, I will leave all that is comfortable and predictable behind me to spend 10 weeks living, working, and learning in Mombasa, Kenya!  This is not a vacation, but an opportunity to empower and contribute to an amazing program in this local community using FSD’s successful infrastructure and methodology.

I have designed this blog to gain support for my internship in Mombasa, Kenya, as well as to raise awareness about the work done by international grassroots organizations. By clicking on Support my trip you can make a donation to help get me to Kenya!

This June, I will be receiving my Bachelors degree in Biology from Kalamazoo College.  I am very excited about this opportunity to both learn and serve before I work as an EMT, go on to study Osteopathic Medicine, and eventually serve in an international health organization like Doctors Without Borders.

    WOOOWWW
My Friend Majd went to Kanya in summer 2009.
Eventhough he was working all day working under the sun with locals in the hot weather (he showed me pictures), It was the best time of his life. Don’t forget to take advantage of the nature and go for the safari tour.
Looking forward to the stories and pictures. Btw, Majd came back BLACK! Really black.. it barely recognized him at first.
    Enjoy!

  9. I am SOOOOOOO proud of you, dear Annie… My thoughts and prayers will travel with you…
